1st Lig 1991/92

The 1st Lig 1992/93 was the 35th season of the highest Turkish league in men's football . It started on August 23, 1992 with the 1st game day and ended on May 30, 1993 with the last game day. From December 20, 1992 to January 23, 1993 the season was interrupted by the winter break. The first of the 1992/93 season was Galatasaray Istanbul under the direction of Karl-Heinz Feldkamp . The team also won the Turkish Cup this season and thus secured the third Turkish double victory in the club's history. Feldkamp's master team included the three German players Falko Götz , Torsten Gütschow and Reinhard Stumpf .

The newly promoted Kocaelispor became the surprise team of the season. First the club overwintered the winter break as autumn champions and ended the season in 4th place in the table. This achieved the best first division placement in the club's history and laid the foundations for the team that was to become the most successful club in Turkish football in its ten years.

Attendees

For the 1st Lig 1992/93, the three promoted teams from the last second division season have been added to the 13 clubs that remained from the previous season . The climbers were the three second division champions Kocaelispor , Karşıyaka SK and Kayserispor . While Kocaelispor and Kayserispor returned to the 1st Lig after five and seven years respectively, Karşıyaka SK achieved direct resurgence.
