Saffet Sancaklı (born February 27, 1966 in Tutin , Yugoslavia , today Serbia ) is a former Turkish football player , official and politician. After the end of his playing career, he became co-owner and sports director of the former traditional club İstanbulspor . Sancaklı also runs its own player agency.

He also went into politics and ran for various offices for the right-wing extremist party of the Nationalist Movement (MHP). For the 2014 local elections , he is running for MHP for the office of mayor of the Kocaeli province . He was elected MP in the parliamentary elections in June and November 2015 .

Saffet Sancaklı started his career at Kültürspor in 1983 . He then played for Vefa Istanbul , Beşiktaş Istanbul , Eskişehirspor , Konyaspor , Sarıyerspor , Kocaelispor , Galatasaray Istanbul , Kocaelispor, Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Konyaspor. In the 1998/99 season Saffet ended his professional career at Konyaspor.

Sancaklı scored a total of 130 goals in the Süper Lig and is tenth in the list of record scorers.

National team

Sancaklı played for the Turkish national soccer team . He made 23 full international appearances and scored 6 goals.
