Cédric Bakambu (born April 11, 1991 in Vitry-sur-Seine ) is a French - Congolese football player . The striker plays for Beijing Guoan and the DR Congo national team .

Career

society

Bakambu started club football in 2000 in the youth division of US Ivry and from 2006 played for the youth teams of FC Sochaux . From 2008 he played in the reserve team and was also included in the squad planning in 2010. After playing for both teams from 2010 to 2011, he became a full member of the first team in 2011. During the 2011/12 season he won a regular place and kept it for the next two seasons.

On the last day of the 2014 summer transfer period, he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig at Bursaspor . In the 2014/15 season he scored 13 goals in 27 appearances and reached sixth place with the team in the final table. After the end of the season, Bakambu went to Villarreal in the Spanish Primera División .

In January 2018 Bakambu left the club for personal reasons. The Chinese Super League initially did not confirm the circulating reports about a transfer for the equivalent of more than 40 million euros to the Beijing Guoan club ; however, the change was finally completed in early March 2018, shortly before the start of the 2018 season .

National team

Bakambu began his national team career in 2011 with a commitment for the French U-18 national team . He then played for the U-19 and U-20 national teams .

With the French U-19 national team he won the U-19 European Championship in 2010 and with the French U-20 national team he finished fourth at the 2011 U-20 World Cup .

On June 9, 2015 Bakambu made his debut in a 1-1 friendly match against Cameroon for the senior national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo .
