Sokol Cikalleshi (born July 27, 1990 in Kavaja ) is an Albanian football player .

Career

society

Cikalleshi started playing club football at KS Besa Kavaja , a sports club in his hometown Kavaja. In 2007 he was accepted into the professional squad and played here until 2013. From 2011 to 2012 he was loaned to the clubs KF Skënderbeu Korça , KF Tirana and Incheon United .

For the 2013/14 season he moved to league rivals FK Kukësi . Here he finished the season with 17 goals in 30 league games and made himself interesting for foreign clubs. In the summer of 2014 he was signed by the Croatian club RNK Split .

For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig at Istanbul Başakşehir . For the second half of the 2016/17 season he was loaned to league rivals Akhisar Belediyespor . Here he played a good second half of the season with seven goals in 14 league games and therefore started the 2017/18 season again at Başakşehir FK. Towards the end of the 2017 summer transfer period, he was handed over to league rivals Osmanlıspor FK . In the 2018/19 season he started Osmanlıspor, but because the club was relegated to the TFF 1st Lig , he was loaned to the first division club Göztepe Izmir for the rest of the season . In January 2019, he terminated his current contracts with both clubs and switched to the first division club Akhisarspor .

National team

Cikalleshi started his national team career in 2008 with a commitment for the Albanian U-19 national team . He subsequently played for the U-20 and U-21 national teams .

In May 2014 he made his debut for the Albanian national team .

In the UEFA EURO 2016 in France, he was in the Albanian contingent added. In the first game against Switzerland he was substituted on when he was 1-0 down in the final quarter of an hour. The team lost this and another game and was eliminated as the worst group third.
