1st Lig 1975/76

The 1st Lig 1976/77 was the 19th season of the highest Turkish league in men's football . It began on September 5, 1976 with the game Fenerbahçe Istanbul against Zonguldakspor , which went 2-2 and ended on June 8, 1977. From January 23, 1977 to February 12, 1977 the season was interrupted by the winter break.

Trabzonspor finished the season again as Turkish champions and defended his title. This season marked the second championship season for the great Trabzonspor team, better known as Karadeniz Fırtınası , that would dominate Turkish football for the next decade .

For the 1st Lig 1976/77, the two promoted teams from the last second division season have been added to the 14 clubs that remained from the previous season . The climbers were the two second division champions Mersin İdman Yurdu and Samsunspor . For Mersin İY returned with this promotion after two years back in the league, while Samsunspor managed the direct promotion.
