useful information
- Since this season, the league name was no longer 1. Lig, but Süper Lig.
- From this season onwards, football players wore their names on their shirts for the first time and were obliged to always wear the same shirt number throughout the season.
- The foreigner regulation for the 2000/01 season was limited to 5 + 1, so each team was allowed to include a maximum of six foreign football players in the squad, which contains 18 places. Each team was allowed to use a maximum of five foreign football players on the starting grid or on the field, and another foreign football player was allowed to sit on the substitutes' bench.
- The league operator TFF , under the presidency of Haluk Ulusoy , allowed Galatasaray Istanbul to play the third (25-27 August 2000) , eleventh (3-5 November 2000) and 23rd matchdays (2-4 August 2000) , game days for Galatasaray Istanbul March 2001) to make up for their league games at later times (the third, on September 6, 2000; the eleventh, on December 20, 2000; the 23rd match day, on April 11, 2001) due to their European Cup appearances in the UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Champions League . In the following season 2001/02 Fenerbahçe Istanbul applied to the league operator TFF to postpone their own league game due to their participation in the European Cup in the UEFA Champions League. This request was rejected under the TFF presidential era Haluk Ulusoy. As marginal information, the former TFF President Haluk Ulusoy was appointed a member of the Galatasaray Istanbul Association Council (Divan Kurulu Üyesi à la Fatih Terim ) in January 2014 .
