Career

society

Sağır went through the youth department of Samsun Kadıköyspor , one of the more famous sports clubs in his hometown. In the summer of 1992 he was awarded a professional contract with the then third division team and was accepted into the professional squad. In his first season, Sağır was used in twelve league games and in his second in 18 league games.

For the 1994/95 season Sağır was committed by Samsunspor , the most famous club in his hometown. Here he was brought into the team for the offensive all-rounder Ertuğrul Sağlam , who had migrated to Beşiktaş Istanbul with the highest transfer fee to date in Turkish football . Sağır established himself right away within the team and formed a successful offensive with the other offensive players Serkan Aykut and Bünyamin Kubat . With eight goals in 32 league games, Sağır was the most successful goalscorer of his team behind Aykut. In the following four years he became one of the best assistants in the league and thus ensures that striker Serkan Aykut always occupied top places in the scorers' lists. The 1997/98 season he finished with Samsunspor in 5th place in the table, repeating the third-best first division placement in the club's history. The 1999/00 season he was injured for a large part of the season and only completed eight league games.

For the 2000/01 season, Mustafa Denizli , who had looked after the Turkish national team until the summer of 2000 , took over Fenerbahçe Istanbul and caused Sağır to be committed as one of his first acts. Denizli had already nominated Sağır for the national team several times. Moved to Fenerbahçe, he only returned to the team in the run-up to the second half of the season. After his return, he completed nine league games by the end of the season, but remained behind his usual performances. With his club he finished the season as a Turkish champion .

After just one season for Fenerbahçe, Sağır was sent back to his previous club Samsunspor at the end of the season. After returning to his home club, he played here for five more years. For the 2006/07 season he left Samsunspor after this club had missed relegation and instead hired the second division team Malatyaspor . However, he only stayed here for one season and then returned to Samsunspor. In the summer of 2008 Sağır left Samsunspor again for Malatyaspor. After playing for this club for one and a half seasons, he worked for Çaykur Rizespor in the second half of the 2009/10 season and then ended his career.

After Sağır stayed away from football for a season and a half, he decided to make a comeback in spring 2012. He was hired by the amateur league team Tekirdağspor and played here for one and a half seasons. He then ended his career with a farewell game held in Samsun on August 23, 2014, in which two national teams met. Former soccer players such as İsa Turan , Ercan Koloğlu , Hasan Şengün , Cenk İşler , Semih Yuvakuran , Tümer Metin , Hasan Vezir , Hami Mandıralı , Hakan Ünsal , Hasan Vezir and Tanju Çolak attended his farewell match .

National team

Sağır completed eight missions for the Turkish U-21 national team while at Samsunspor and scored one goal. From October 1996, Sağır was regularly nominated for over a year by the Turkish national coach Mustafa Denizli in the squad of the Turkish national team and completed seven senior internationals during this time.
