Yaniv "Nev" Louis Schulman (born September 26, 1984 in New York City , New York ) is an American producer , actor , photographer and writer . He gained fame through the documentary Catfish and the accompanying series Catfish - Verliebte im Netz .

life and career

Nev Schulman grew up with his brother Ariel in New York City with a Jewish upbringing . He studied dance for five years and photographed it regularly since photographing ballet dancers is his favorite subject. His photographs have also appeared in numerous magazines, including Vogue and the New York Times .

Nev Schulman became known through the documentary Catfish , which was produced by his brother Ariel and friend Henry Joost . It's about how Nev falls in love with a young woman via social media and the three go in search of her to see if she really is who she claims to be. Since the documentary was quite successful, MTV adapted it as a reality series in 2012 , in which Nev and his friend Max Joseph, with whom he has been friends since he was young, act as moderators and go in search of the so-called “Catfishs “ Go. The series Catfish - Verliebte im Netz has been broadcast on MTV since November 12, 2012. In September 2014 his book In Real Life was published .

Nev Schulman was dating singer Shanee Pink and lives in Los Angeles . He is also involved in the Leave Out Violence organization . In May 2016, he got engaged to Laura Perlongo. The daughter of the two was born on October 21, 2016. In 2019, the two also had a son.
