John Lesiba "Shoes" Moshoeu (born December 18, 1965 in Soweto near Johannesburg , † April 21, 2015 in Johannesburg) was a South African football player .
Career
society
John Moshoeu began his career in 1988 with the Kaizer Chiefs from the Premier Soccer League in South Africa . After the 1992/93 season he then moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to Gençlerbirliği Ankara . From 1998 to 2000 he played for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and from 2000 to 2002 for Bursaspor , before he went back to the Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League in 2002. Moshoeu was also in the squad of AmaZulu Durban in the 2008/09 season . In spring 2010 he signed with Alexandra United FC, which is led by Brian Baloyi .
National team
Moshoeu played a total of 73 times for the South African national team between 1997 and 2005 , scoring eight goals. At the 1996 African Cup of Nations , he and his team won the title. He also took part with the national team in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup , the 1998 African Cup , the 1998 World Cup , the 2000 African Cup and the 2004 African Cup.
