The Wyschtscha Liha 2000/01 ( Ukrainian Вища ліга ) was the 10th edition of the highest Ukrainian league in men's football . The season began on July 12, 2000 and ended on June 19, 2001.

The league was reduced to fourteen clubs for the 2000/01 season. They played against each other twice on a total of 26 match days, divided into a first round and a second half.

Two game days before the end of the season, defending champions Dynamo Kiev took over the championship lead after Shakhtar Donetsk did not go past CSKA Kiev past 0-0. Dynamo won the championship for the ninth time in a row. The teams in the last two places were relegated to the Perscha Liha .
