László Bodnár [ ˈlaːsloː ˈbodnaːr ] (born February 25, 1979 in Mátészalka ) is a Hungarian football player .
Career
László Bodnár began his professional career in 1996 at VSC Debrecen in Hungary. From the 2000/01 season he played in Ukraine for Dynamo Kiev . In January 2003 he moved to local rivals Arsenal Kiev for six months , after which Bodnár came to Roda Kerkrade in the Netherlands . From January 2006 to 2009 Bodnár played in Austria for FC Red Bull Salzburg . At first under Kurt Jara he could not prevail, but under the coaches Giovanni Trapattoni and Lothar Matthäus he became a regular player. He injured himself during the winter break of the Bundesliga and had to take a break for the rest of the 2006/2007 season. At the beginning of the 07/08 season he injured himself again ( torn muscle fiber ) and had to wait nine weeks until he could rehabilitate in the B team and on September 23, after 180 days, play a competitive game for the combat team again.
Bodnár caused a stir in November 2007 when he fought a fistfight with his teammate Jorge Vargas during an internal test match between FC Red Bull Salzburg and their amateurs, the Red Bull Juniors .
He made his final breakthrough at Salzburg in the 2008/09 season under the new coach Co Adriaanse . The Dutchman played very offensively in Salzburg, and Bodnár felt very comfortable in the role of the attacking full-back. In addition to nine assists, Bodnár also scored his only two goals for Salzburg this season. At the end of the season he won his second championship in his fourth season with the Salzburg team. In the upcoming contract negotiations, however, the club management and the players could not agree on an extension of the engagement.
At the end of the summer transfer period 2009 Bodnár returned to the Hungarian champions VSC Debrecen , where he had already played as a youth. There he scored the opening goal against Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia on his debut in the 4th round of the Champions League qualification , which was the cornerstone for promotion to the CL group phase in 2009/10 . After his contract was not renewed for the following season, he remained without a club in autumn 2010. At the beginning of December he was invited to a trial session at FC Red Bull Salzburg , as the right defender Christian Schwegler was out for a long time due to an injury. On December 22nd, it was finally announced that Bodnár will play for the Austrian champions again in January 2011, as he did from 2006 to 2009. His contract, which ran until the summer of 2011, was not extended.
On August 28, 2009, Bodnár caused a car accident. When he was driving on a country road instead of the permitted 90 km / h on the way to his parents at 130 km / h, he rammed a cyclist. The cyclist, who was drunk, died immediately, Bodnár got away with minor injuries.

László Bodnár has already played 44 international matches for Hungary , once as captain.
