Christian Schwegler (born June 6, 1984 in Ettiswil ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with FC Luzern in the Swiss Super League .

Career

society

Before the 2005/06 season, Schwegler moved from FC Luzern in the Swiss Challenge League to Arminia Bielefeld in the German Bundesliga. During the winter break 2005/06 he moved back to Switzerland to BSC Young Boys . There he was a regular on the defensive flanks.

Schwegler moved to the Austrian champions FC Red Bull Salzburg on June 1, 2009 for a transfer fee of 950,000 euros . In his first season he became a regular player with 35 appearances in the Bundesliga . In the 2010/11 fall season he suffered a torn tendon in his left thigh and was no longer available for the rest of the season.

For the 2017/18 season, Schwegler returned to FC Luzern, where he received a contract valid until June 2019. At the beginning of 2020 Christian Schwegler became captain of FC Luzern. His contract was extended by one year on June 9, 2020 to the end of June 2021.
