Fabio Celestini (born October 31, 1975 in Lausanne ) is a former Swiss football player and today's football coach .

Career as a player

His previous positions were Getafe FC , Levante UD and Olympique Marseille . In December 2010, Celestini ended his football career in Lausanne despite the contract that was still valid until the end of the 2010/11 season due to differences with the club's management. He did not take on the role of technical director of FC Lausanne-Sport as planned.

National team

He has played 35 international matches for the Swiss national team and was also at the 2004 European Championship.

Career as a coach

Celestini began his coaching career as an assistant at the Spanish first division club FC Málaga before becoming a coach at the Italian fourth division club AS Terracina in 2014 . After a quick release, he returned to his home club, FC Lausanne-Sport . From 2018 to 2019 he was the coach of FC Lugano . On January 2, 2020, Celestini took over as head coach of FC Luzern , where he signed a contract until the end of June 2021.
