Peter Zeidler (born August 8, 1962 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German football coach .
career
Zeidler's coaching career began in the youth department of VfB Stuttgart , where he worked from 1984 to 1993. After working as a player-coach at SV 03 Tübingen and TSV Böbingen he was an assistant coach at VfB Stuttgart. From there he moved to VfR Aalen as an assistant coach , which he was also head coach from 2002 to 2004. From 2005 to 2007 Zeidler was the coach of the second team at 1. FC Nürnberg . After a brief interlude with the Stuttgarter Kickers , he was assistant coach at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim from 2008 to 2011 under coach Ralf Rangnick . After a year in France with FC Tours in Ligue 2 , Rangnick, who had meanwhile moved to FC Red Bull Salzburg as sports director, brought him to the newly founded FC Liefering , the cooperation partner of Salzburg. With the club, Zeidler immediately became champion of the Regionalliga West (3rd performance level) and rose to the second-class first division after victories in the relegation against LASK Linz .
On June 22, 2015, Peter Zeidler succeeded Adi Hütter as head coach at FC Red Bull Salzburg. On December 3, 2015, he was replaced by Thomas Letsch .
On August 22, 2016, Zeidler was introduced as the new coach of FC Sion . He was released there at the end of April 2017. In July 2017 he was signed by FC Sochaux in Ligue 2 in France as head coach before he went back to Switzerland for FC St. Gallen for the 2018/19 season .
