Thomas Letsch (born August 26, 1968 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German football coach . For the 2020/21 season he took over Vitesse Arnheim as head coach.
career
After various positions in Germany as a coach and assistant coach (VfB Oberesslingen / Zell, Stuttgarter Kickers , FC Heilbronn, SSV Ulm 1846 , SG Sonnenhof Großaspach ), he joined the youth academy of FC Red Bull Salzburg in the 2012/13 season . There he trained the U-16s and the U-18s, with whom he became Austrian champions in the 2014/15 season. In the 2013/14 season, in addition to his work at the academy, he was also assistant coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Bundesliga under Roger Schmidt .
In 2015 he became the coach of FC Liefering, succeeding Peter Zeidler . On December 3, 2015 he was again Zeidler's successor as head coach at FC Red Bull Salzburg until the winter break . In the two games he reached a draw and a win against SK Rapid Wien.
In June 2017 he became the coach of the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue . There he was released on August 14th after a false start with three defeats in the first three competitive games.
In February 2018 he took over the Austrian Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien until the end of the season. On May 14, 2018, he was given a two-year contract until 2020 with an option to extend for a third year. In March 2019, Austria separated from Letsch, the Viennese were in third place in the table at the time of the separation.
For the 2020/21 season , the German Vitesse Arnheim took over from the Dutch Eredivisie as head coach.
