Victor Ruiz Abril (born November 2, 1993 in Utiel ) is a Spanish soccer player who has been under contract with the Swiss club FC St. Gallen since 2019 .

Career

In his youth Victor Ruiz played for the offspring of Valencia . In 2012 he was part of the team that finished the regional group of the highest Spanish youth league in first place before he had to leave the youngsters due to age. For the 2012/13 season he joined CD Utiel , who had just been promoted to the Tercera División , the fourth highest division. After two years he switched to CD Olímpic de Xàtiva , where he played a step higher in Segunda División B. After one season, Ruiz moved back to Valencia within the league, where he played for the second team of Valencia CF.

In the 2016/17 season, Victor Ruiz moved back to UD Alzira in the Tercera División, one season later he moved on to Yeclano Deportivo , with whom he finished the regional group of the Tercera División in first place, but in the promotion playoffs at Atlético Malagueño failed. This was followed by the transfer to league competitor SD Formentera . On December 8, 2018, FC St. Gallen announced the signing of Victor Ruiz Abril. He signed a contract for two and a half years until 2021.
