The Tours Football Club is a French football club from Tours , the capital of the French Department of Indre-et-Loire .
It was founded in 1919 as the Association Sportive Docks du Center (from 1921 only AS du Center ); "Docks de France" was the state shipyard that also had an operation in Tours. When the club stopped supporting the club in 1951, it was renamed FC Tours and in 1993 it took its current name. The club colors are blue and black; the league team plays at the Stade de la Vallée du Cher , which has a capacity of 12,690 seats.

Women's soccer
The department emerged from the EC Tours , whose first eleven regularly took part in the national championships throughout the 1980s and in the 1984/85 season even made it to the top four French teams. This changed with the introduction of a national first division . When the women of the EC qualified for promotion to Division 1 Féminine in 2001, they joined local rivals FC Tours. After only one season they were relegated to Division 2 Féminine , in which they were represented until the 2010s; since then they have only belonged to the third-class Division d'Honneur . Tours' women play their home games on a side square of the Stade de la Vallée du Cher .
