Stefan Knežević (born October 30, 1996 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with FC Lucerne in the Swiss Super League .

Career

Stefan Knežević spent his junior years at FC Hitzkirch, SC Kriens and FC Luzern. In the summer of 2014, Knežević was loaned to SC Buochs in the 2nd interregional league until the end of June 2015 , but continued to train with the U-21 of FC Luzern. In the summer of 2016 he made the leap into the first team of FC Luzern in the Super League. His contract runs until the end of June 2018. Knežević played his first competitive game for the first team on October 27, 2016 in the Swiss Cup , in the away win against FC Köniz . He made his debut on April 9, 2017 in the away game at FC Vaduz in the Swiss Super League , where he played straight away . On April 22nd, Knežević scored his first championship goal in the Super League . On September 15, 2017, Knežević prematurely extended his contract until the end of June 2020. At the end of November 2018 at the home game against FC Basel , Knežević suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and was out until the end of the 2018/19 season . On June 12, FC Luzern extended the contract with Knežević prematurely until the end of June 2022.
