The FK Stal Alchevsk ( Russian ФК Сталь Алчевск ) is a Ukrainian football club from Alchevsk . The club, founded in 1935, plays in the second Ukrainian football league, the Perscha Liha .
history
The association was founded in 1935. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the associated independence of Ukraine, Stal Alchevsk began to play in the second-rate Perscha Liha . After nine seasons in the second division in 2000 succeeded as runner-up in the Premjer-Liha , the highest league in Ukrainian football, from which the immediate relegation followed. It took the club four seasons to play again first-class when, by winning the championship in the Perscha Liha in 2005, the second promotion to the Premjer-Liha succeeded. After two years, the team slipped back into second class. In the 2012/13 season, FK Stal reached second place in the Perscha-Liha and should therefore play first class again in the 2013/14 season, but was not approved for the highest Ukrainian league and thus remains second class.
