Georgi Peew ( Bulgarian Георги Пеев , English transcription Georgi Peev; born March 11, 1979 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian football player . He played mainly in the right midfield .

Career

Peew began his career at Lokomotiv Sofia in 1997 and was discovered at the age of 21 by Valery Lobanovsky , the then coach of Dynamo Kiev , and signed by Kiev for 2.5 million euros. He played for Kiev from 2001 to 2005 and during this time was three times Ukrainian champion and two Ukrainian cup winners. In the first half of 2006 he played on loan for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk . In 2007 the Bulgarian moved to the Russian first division club Amkar Perm and was voted fan favorite in his first season. He stayed in Perm for nine seasons before retiring in 2016.

Peew has played for Bulgaria 47 times since his debut in 1999, but remained goalless. He also took part in the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal.
