Maksim Aleksandr o'g'il Shatskix ( Uzbek Максим Александр ўғил Шацких ; Russian Максим Александрович Шацких Maxim Alexandrovich Schazkich ; UEFA transcription Maksim Shatskikh * 30th August 1978 in Tashkent , Uzbek SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek former football player .

Career

In the club

The striker has played for the Ukrainian top club Dynamo Kiev since the beginning of the 1998/99 season and for the Uzbek national team since 1999 , where he is the record scorer. Before that he played for Baltika Kaliningrad . Kiev brought him in as a replacement for Andrij Shevchenko , which is why he is also known as "Shevchenko" in his native Uzbekistan. He won five championship titles with Dynamo Kiev and was also the league's top scorer twice. In 2009 he moved to the Kazakh association Lokomotiv Astana , where he became runner-up. In 2010 he returned to Ukraine to join Arsenal Kiev . During the 2012/13 winter break, he moved to Chornomorez Odessa in the league .

After the 2007-08 season, Shatskix has scored 97 goals in the Ukrainian league , making him the second best goalscorer in league history. Only Sergei Rebrow is still ahead of him with his 123 goals.

National team

With the Uzbek national team , Shatskix only narrowly failed in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup to Bahrain . The Uzbeks only played 1-1 in their capital Tashkent and did not come out over 0-0 in Bahrain, which meant they were eliminated. Bahrain, however, was eliminated by Trinidad and Tobago . During qualifying for the 2010 World Cup , Shatskix scored five goals in one game in a 9-0 win against Taiwan in October 2007 .
