Ukrainian soccer supercup

The Ukrainian Football Supercup ( Ukrainian Суперкубок України / Superkubok Ukrajiny) is a cup competition in football . In the cup, which has been held since 2004, traditionally the reigning Ukrainian champions and the Ukrainian cup winners meet before a new season . Should a team be champion and cup winner at the same time, the super cup will be played between the champion and the runner-up.

Up to and including 2008 Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk always played the Super Cup among themselves. In six of the 17 events of the Super Cup, the decision was made in a penalty shoot-out .
