Trophée des Championnes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trophée des Championnes ("Cup of Masters") is a French women's football competition for club teams and the equivalent of the Trophée des Champions for men. It is a single game played in late summer or early autumn on a neutral pitch between the champion of Division 1 Féminine and the winner of the Coupe de France féminine from the previous season.

Regulations

This Supercup competition was newly introduced in early summer 2019 by resolution of the FFF football association , which is also responsible for its implementation; several other European associations with strong leagues have since abolished a corresponding competition ( Germany 1998, England 2009, Sweden 2017). It was held for the first time in France on September 21, 2019.

If, as in the first draw, a club has won both titles, the league runner-up is its opponent. If the match is a draw at the end of the regular playing time, there is no extra time according to Article 4 of the official regulations (see below under web links) , but the winner is determined immediately by a penalty shoot-out .

Since the club cup competition 2019/20 was interrupted for a long time after the quarter-finals due to the corona pandemic and also the date scheduled for the game for the Trophée des Championnes 2020 on the weekend of 5th / 6th. September has now been set as the first match day for Division 1, the FFF decided not to award the trophy this year.
