The Stade municipal de Roudourou is a municipal football stadium in the Breton municipality of Guingamp . It is the home ground of En Avant de Guingamp , whose first team is currently playing in the second division .

history

The stadium was built in 1990 and since the last renovation has a capacity of 18,378 spectators, including 16,878 seats. This means that its capacity is more than double the population of the town, which is around 8,000. The name, which comes from Breton , can be translated as "Stadium on the fords ".

For October 2009, the French football association FFF has designated the Stade de Roudourou for the first time as the venue for an international match of the senior national team ( World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands ), after it had previously hosted the junior national team .

The construction and expansion of this sports facility are closely linked to the person of Noël Le Graët , a local entrepreneur from the food industry (Celtigel) , who was chairman of En Avant from 1971 to 1992 and again since 2002, and from 1995 to 2008 mayor of the municipality, also president of the French professional league association between 1991 and 2000 and president of the FFF since 2011.
