The Stade Gaston Petit is a football stadium in the French Châteauroux , Indre department in the Center-Val de Loire region . It is the home ground of the LB Châteauroux football club .
history
The plans for the construction of a stadium go back to 1929. It took until 1964 for a stadium to open in Châteauroux. It gets its current name from the former mayor of Châteauroux (1967–1971) Gaston Petit. After the LB rose to the first division in 1997 , the venue was renovated and expanded. Its current capacity is 17,702 seats, including 14,500 seats. The record attendance comes from January 24, 1998 from the game LB Châteauroux against Olympique Marseille (0: 3) in front of 15,896 spectators.
