The LTV Super Cup (formerly FA Shield , Stylianakis Shield and Pakkos Shield ) is a Cypriot football competition in which the Cypriot champions and the Cypriot cup winners of the previous season meet in a single game at the beginning of a season . If a team has won the double , it will play against the cup finalist. The final has been held in Nicosia for the past 20 years .
For the first time, the Super Cup was held in 1950 under the name Pakkos Shield . The first title holder was Çetinkaya TSK . At the time, the double winner automatically became a cup winner. Between 1969 and 1978 the Super Cup was not held and only started again in 1979 under the name Stylianakis Shield .
In 1989 the cup was renamed FA-Shield (Football Association Shield), before it was renamed again in 2008 LTV Super Cup . The record winner is Omonia Nicosia with 16 wins.
