Soviet soccer supercup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Soviet Football Supercup ( Russian Суперкубок СССР / Superkubok SSSR or Кубок Сезона / Kubok Sesona) was a cup competition in football . This is where the Soviet champions and the Soviet cup winners met . The winner was determined in one, in some years also in two games. In the first six years up to 1983 the Supercup did not take place regularly, but only twice. From 1983 the Super Cup was awarded annually. In 1988 the competition did not take place because the specified venue in Chișinău was ultimately rated as insufficient. At the last Super Cup in Sochi in 1989 , only 1,500 spectators came.
