Swedish women's soccer supercup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Swedish Women's Football Supercup ( Swedish : Supercupen damer ) was a Swedish football competition for club teams. To determine the winner, between 2007 and 2016, the reigning national champions competed against the reigning cup winners in women's football every year after the end of or before the start of a season. If the champion is also the reigning cup winner, he will play against the second in the table.

The Supercup was held for the first time in 2007, and there was no competition in 2014 due to a change in the game calendar. In women's football, Linköpings FC's victory in 2009 was the only time a cup winner won the title. At the beginning of 2016, the association finally decided to discontinue the competition because the public interest - both among stadium visitors and television viewers - fell short of expectations in both the women's and men's competitions .
