Thomas Reimer (musician)

Thomas Reimer (* 1955 in Graz ) is an Austrian jazz musician ( guitar ).

Reimer was trained as a concertmaster at the Graz University of Music and at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz . At the age of 15 he switched to the guitar, which he taught himself as an autodidact. He was part of the Munich jazz scene for almost 25 years; he played in a duo with Max Neissendorfer , led his own trio and the Quadro quartet . He also performed with George Benson , Wolfgang Haffner , Leo Wright , Allan Praskin , Barbara Dennerlein and others; he was also a member of the Munich Art Orchestra .

For many years he worked as a guitar lecturer at the Munich Jazz School, where he took over the theory courses from Joe Viera and later the musical direction of the facility; he also taught at the jazz department of the Erlangen Music Institute. In 1991 he was co-founder of the Munich Jazz Rock Blues Days . Reimer emigrated to Thailand, where he regularly plays in the Jazz Pit in Pattaya .
