Irwin Goodman , actually Antti Yrjö Hammarberg (born September 14, 1943 in Hämeenlinna , † January 14, 1991 in Hamina ) was a Finnish folk musician .

Career

He released about 300 tracks on over 20 albums. He composed most of the pieces himself. The lyrics deal mainly with political and socially critical issues, but also everyday problems such as alcoholism and financial problems. They partly also reflected his own life: he himself was ill with alcoholism and there were disputes with the Finnish tax authorities. Irwin Goodman eventually died of a heart attack at the age of 47 . After his death, his life was filmed. The film is called Rentun Ruusu . He received the Jussi Prize in 2002 and has already been shown on German television with subtitles.
