Waljanzin Mikalayevich Bjalkewitsch ( Belarusian Валянцін Мікалаевіч Бялькевіч , Russian Валентин Николаевич Белькевич Valentin Nikolayevich Belkewitsch * 27. January 1973 in Minsk ; † 1. August 2014 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Belarusian footballer .
Career
The Belarusian began his career at Dinamo Minsk . In September 1994 he was suspended from UEFA for one year for doping because he had tested positive for nandrolone in a UEFA Cup game . In 1995 he was Belarus' footballer of the year. In 1996 he moved from his hometown club Dinamo Minsk to the Ukrainian record champions Dynamo Kiev , with whom he won the Ukrainian championship nine times and the Ukrainian cup seven times over a period of twelve years and reached the Champions League semi-finals as a playmaker in Kiev in 1999 . In 2008 he moved to the Azerbaijani first division club İnter Baku , where he ended his active career after only five missions.
For Belarus , he played 56 international matches until his retirement in 2005, in which he scored ten goals.
In 2008 he received Ukrainian citizenship.
Private
From 2004 to 2006 he was married to the Ukrainian pop singer Hanna Sjedokowa (* 1982). A daughter was born in December 2004. On August 1, 2014, he died from a vascular aneurysm . He was buried on August 3, 2014 in the Baikowe Cemetery in Kiev. Two years later, a tomb was erected on his grave.
