The RSC Lokomotiv Stadium ( Russian Республиканский спортивный комплекс "Локомотив» ; Ukrainian Республіканський спортивний комплекс "Локомотив") is a football stadium with athletics track in the city of Simferopol on the Crimean . It has seating for 19,978 spectators and is the home of the Tawrija Simferopol association .

history

The stadium, which opened in 1967, was renovated in 2006 and is completely unroofed except for the VIP rooms (40 seats). The tiers are equipped with blue plastic seats. There are 122 places available for journalists. An electronic display board is set up in the north curve. The running track around the pitch made of natural grass is laid out with seven lanes. The headlights of the floodlight system with 1,600 lux are enthroned on four massive steel masts.

The RSC Lokomotiv Stadium was one of two Ukrainian stadiums in which the USSR national football team played matches. The other stadium was the Olympic Stadium in Kiev .

So found u. a. Qualifying matches for the European Football Championship in 1988 and the World Cup in 1990 in Simferopol.
