Süper Lig 2016/17

The Süper Lig 2017/18 (officially: Spor Toto Süper Lig İlhan Cavcav Sezonu ) was the 60th season of the top Turkish league in men's football . It started on August 11, 2017 with the home game of Istanbul Başakşehir against Bursaspor and ended on May 19, 2018 with the last matchday. Due to the death of İlhan Cavcav on January 22, 2017, the Turkish Football Association decided on July 7, 2017 to name the 2017/18 season based on the long-time president of Gençlerbirliği Ankara Süper Lig İlhan Cavcav Sezonu .

For the second half of the 2017/18 season, Spor Toto was again a league sponsor.

Newcomer Yeni Malatyaspor became the 70th participant since the founding of the Süper Lig. On the last day of the match, Galatasaray Istanbul became Turkish champions for the 21st time with an away win against Göztepe Izmir .

Attendees

For the 2017/18 season, the 15 clubs remaining from the previous season were joined by the three promoted teams from the last second division season . As a runner-up in the TFF 1st Lig, Yeni Malatyaspor also made it to the top, with this success taking part in the Süper Lig for the first time in its history. Yeni Malatyaspor was the 70th participant since the founding of the Süper Lig. The third and final climber was the playoff winner Göztepe Izmir , Göztepe returned to the Süper Lig after 14 years.
