Emrah Başsan (born April 17, 1992 in Gebze ) is a Turkish football player .

Player career

Emrah Başsan has been a professional soccer player since 2009. His first club was Pendikspor , he played there until the summer of 2011. In July 2011 he signed a five-year contract with Medical Park Antalyaspor . Emrah made his debut on September 11, 2011 against Gaziantepspor and his first goal in the Süper Lig he scored on February 1, 2012 against Galatasaray Istanbul . The game ended 1-1. After a season in the 2nd Turkish League, Başsan and his teammates managed to get promoted back to the Süper Lig in May 2015.

For the 2016/17 season, the midfielder moved to Galatasaray Istanbul on a free transfer and signed a contract until 2019. Shortly before the start of the season, Başsan moved to Çaykur Rizespor on loan . Çaykur Rizespor terminated the loan agreement with Başsan in December 2016. At the beginning of January 2017, Başsan switched to Fortuna Sittard on loan .

On January 31, 2018, his contract with Galatasaray was terminated. Başsan played at Galatasaray in two cup games and a UEFA Europa League qualifier. He moved to Portugal and played for Vitória Setúbal . After half a year, however, Başsan returned to Turkey and signed a one-year contract with the promoted Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor .

National team

On February 29, 2012, Emrah Başsan played for the first time for the Turkish U21 selection .
