Aykut Demir (born October 22, 1988 in Bergen op Zoom ) is a Dutch - Turkish soccer player .
Career
Aykut Demir was born as the son of Turkish guest workers in Bergen op Zoom . Here he started in the youth team of his local club SV DOSKO and, after they became aware of him, switched to the youth team of NAC Breda . Here he was involved in the professional team squad by the then coach Ton Lokhoff for the 2005/06 season and so came to eight Eredivisie games. In the following seasons he was seldom used and was more of a reservist. During the winter break of the 2007/08 season he moved to league rivals Excelsior Rotterdam on loan . His former trainer and sponsor Ton Lokhoff, who was now at Excelsior, was largely responsible for the transfer. At Excelsior he got a regular place straight away. After the club could not create relegation, his loan contract was extended for another season. In the second highest Dutch league, the Eerste Divisie , he could not hold his regular place, but was denooch regularly used. With the club he did not succeed in direct recovery and he separated from the club at the end of the season.
Since his current contract with NAC Breda expired and he saw no more prospects in the Dutch leagues, he accepted the offer of the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara and moved to Turkey . Here he made the jump into the starting line-up and was one of the top performers on his team in his first season. He was able to maintain this performance over the next seasons, so that he was nominated several times for the second selection of the Turkish national team and used several times.
Demir moved to Trabzonspor within the league in the summer of 2013 .
For the 2016/17 season, his club loaned him to league rivals Osmanlıspor FK . At the end of August 2017, after mutual agreement with Trabzonspor, his contract was terminated prematurely. Towards the end of the 2017 summer transfer period, he was signed by the second division Giresunspor . Here he played for two seasons and then moved on to Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor within the TFF 1st Lig .
National team
Aykut Demir started playing for the Turkish junior national teams early on. He went through most of the Turkish junior national teams over the years. In 2005 he took part with the Turkish U-17 at the U-17 World Cup in 2005 and finished fourth with his team. The squad included players like Nuri Şahin and Deniz Yılmaz . In 2006 he took part with the Turkish U-19s in the U-19 European Football Championship 2006 and was eliminated with his team in the group stage.
Since 2010 he has played regularly for the second selection of the Turkish national team.
As part of the Toulon 2012 tournament , Demir was appointed to the second selection of the Turkish national team in May 2012 . The Turkish A2 nominated here for players younger than 23 years to meet the age requirements for the tournament. The team made it to the finals and was subject to Mexico's selection.
During a test match against the Danish national team on November 14, 2012, which was also the 500th game of the Turkish national team , he was nominated for the first time in the national team. In this encounter he was on the bench and did not make his international debut. He made his international debut in the friendly against the Belarusian national team on November 19, 2013 .
