Antonius ("Ton") Johannes Jacobus Lokhoff (born December 25, 1959 in Breda , North Brabant ) is a former Dutch soccer player and today's soccer coach .
Career
Lokhoff, Mister NAC as the fans called him, began his playing career at NAC Breda, where he played for a total of nine years and ended his career in 1996. In between he played at PSV Eindhoven , Olympique Nîmes and Feyenoord Rotterdam . During the time at Eindhoven he was even able to play three games for the Oranje , but did not score a goal.
After his active football career, Lokhoff became assistant coach at NAC Breda in 1997 and head coach seven years later . In 2006 he succeeded Mario Been as coach of Excelsior Rotterdam , which made promotion to the Eredivisie the previous season . After two seasons of first class he was relegated with Excelsior and clearly missed the promotion with the 5th place. After his contract in Rotterdam was not renewed, he took over the position of assistant coach at FC Red Bull Salzburg on September 10, 2009 , as Markus Schupp was appointed head coach at Karlsruhe . On February 26, 2011 Lokhoff was allowed to represent his sick head coach Huub Stevens for the first time . The debut in the Austrian Bundesliga went wrong, however, because FC Red Bull Salzburg had to admit defeat 1-0 at SC Magna Wiener Neustadt . In April 2011, Huub Stevens and Ton Lokhoff were replaced as trainers and assistant trainers by Ricardo Moniz and Niko Kovač . In December 2011 the VVV-Venlo signed Lokhoff as head coach. He replaced the resigned Glen De Boeck at the border towns . On June 7, 2013 Venlo announced the immediate separation. Lokhoff assisted Huub Stevens at PAOK Saloniki from the beginning of the 2013/14 season . On March 3, 2014, he and his head coach were released from his duties in Saloniki. A week later, Lokhoff and Armin Reutershahn again became Huub Stevens' co-trainer at VfB Stuttgart . With Stevens, Lohoff's involvement in Stuttgart also ended at the end of the season and he switched to VfL Wolfsburg as assistant coach .
