Career

societies

Via the youth club TV Wiblingen and the youth department of SSV Ulm 1846 , Yılmaz came to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich in 2005 and made the leap into the regional league team in 2007, having outgrown his youth . In the 2005/06 season he had already played five "guest appearances" before becoming a contract player on September 1, 2007 (6th matchday) in the 3-0 defeat in the away game against SV Elversberg with the substitution in the 55th minute was used for Dominik Rohracker for the first time. With the hit to the 4-0 final score on October 20, 2007 (12th matchday) in the home game against KSV Hessen Kassel , he scored his first goal.

On July 27, 2008 Yılmaz made his debut against 1. FC Union Berlin in the newly created 3rd division ; on August 2, 2008 he scored his first goal in this league in the away game at Wuppertaler SV Borussia . Deniz Yılmaz completed parts of the pre-season 2008/09 with the professional squad of Bayern and was on October 25, 2008 (9th matchday) in the team of the Bundesliga match with VfL Wolfsburg .

For the 2011/12 season, Yılmaz moved to Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 on a free transfer . Although he was signed for the Bundesliga team, he initially only played for the Mainz reserve . During the winter break he took part in the Bundesliga team's training camp and impressed with good performances. He was then used twice in the Bundesliga under coach Thomas Tuchel . He made his debut (in the first half) on January 22, 2012 (18th matchday) in the 3-2 defeat in the away game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

With an agreed purchase option and on loan, Yılmaz was given to the second division club SC Paderborn 07 to reinforce the attack for the 2012/13 season .

For the 2013/14 season he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to Sanica Boru Elazığspor , for whom he made his debut on August 31, 2013 (3rd matchday) in a 3-1 win in the away game against Kayserispor . He scored his first goal in a first division ever with the goal for the interim 1-0 in the 15th minute. The season ended Yılmaz with 12 league goals. This made him the most successful goalscorer of his club and one of the most successful goal scorers of the first division season. Since his club missed relegation in the summer of 2014 and had to relegate to the TFF 1st Lig , Yılmaz moved to Trabzonspor together with his teammate Serdar Gürler .

After staying at Trabzonspor for one and a half seasons, he moved to league rivals Bursaspor in spring 2016 . In January 2018 he switched to Gençlerbirliği Ankara , with whom he was relegated to the TFF 1st Lig , the second division, at the end of the season. His contract ended after the 2018/19 season.

Since then, Yılmaz has been without a club.

National team

With the Turkish U-17 national team , Yılmaz was U-17 European champion in Italy in 2005 . At the subsequent U-17 World Cup in Peru in 2005 , he finished fourth with the team. In the opinion of the Technical Study Group , he was one of the outstanding players on his team alongside Nuri Şahin , Tevfik Köse and Caner Erkin and was recognized as "a fast and athletic player on the wing or at the top, technically adept, knows how to assert himself" described.

He made his debut in the U-21 national team on February 10, 2009 in Manisa in the 2-1 defeat by Ukraine . He scored his first international goal on March 31, 2009 in Cork in a 3-0 win over the Irish selection . His last game in this national team he played on May 23, 2010 in Kadriorg in the 0-1 defeat against the selection of Estonia . Yılmaz was meanwhile captain of the U-21 team.

Yilmaz has been playing for the Azerbaijan national team since 2016 thanks to his dual citizenship .
