André Castro Pereira (born April 2, 1988 in Gondomar ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

Castro began his career at his hometown club Gondomar SC , from where he moved to the youth department of FC Porto in 1999 . There he was brought into the first team in 2008. He made his debut in the Portuguese top division on February 2, 2008 against União Leiria , when he came on for Paulo Assunção in the 79th minute . The game ended 4-0 for Porto. Another championship game followed. The championship title was celebrated at the end of the season.

In the following season he switched to SC Olhanense on loan , with whom he immediately made it to the SuperLiga . With 13th place in 2009/10, the club was able to assert itself in the top division. From 2011 to the end of the 2012 season Castro played on loan at Sporting Gijón in the Primera División . For the 2012/13 season he will play again for FC Porto. For the 2013/14 season Castro was loaned to the Turkish first division club Kasımpaşa Istanbul .

After this one-year loan period at Kasımpaşa Istanbul, he was transferred from this club including the transfer fee in the summer of 2014. Castro played for Istanbul over the next few seasons and established himself as one of the league's most prominent midfielders during this time. He became one of the league's most sought-after players in the 2017 summer transfer period. So Castro moved to the new first division club Göztepe Izmir .
