Léo Schwechlen (born June 5, 1989 in Montbéliard ) is a French football player .

Career

Schwechlen grew up in Besançon , where he started playing football. He was nominated for the regional selection of the Franche-Comté region and attracted attention at a U-14 youth tournament, so that he was discovered by AS Monaco . At Monaco he ran on from 2005 for the second team in the fourth division, but he did not succeed in making the jump to the first team. In 2009 he was used in two games of the French U-20 team. After still not making the leap to the Monaco first team in 2011, he moved to Tours FC on a free transfer . In the second division, he became an integral part of the first team.

After playing the 2015/16 season for Cypriot first division club Anorthosis Famagusta , he was signed by Turkish second division club Göztepe Izmir one season later . In the summer of 2018 he moved to the new first division club Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor , but returned to Göztepe after one season.
