The Faroese Football Championship 2018 was the 76th season of the Faroese football league . After the departure of the main sponsor Effo , the league no longer operates under the name Effodeildin . As a new sponsor, Betri Banki was announced on December 15, 2017 , so that the league has been called Betrideildin since this season . It started on March 11, 2018 and ended on October 27, 2018.
The only promoted AB Argir returned after a year in the top division. Champion HB Tórshavn , which could thus win the title for the 23rd time. Defending champion Víkingur Gøta ended up in fifth place. On the other hand, 07 Vestur had to relegate after two years of first class.

The team with the best points at the end of the season was champions and takes part in the qualification for the Champions League, while the team that placed last was relegated to 1. Deild , the Faroese second division. Since there was only one A-team in the first three places in the 1st Deild , there was only one relegated team.
