The Faroese Football Championship 1960 was held in the Meistaradeildin called first Faroese league and was overall the 18th season. It started on May 15, 1960 with HB Tórshavn's game against TB Tvøroyri and ended on August 7, 1960.

HB Tórshavn became champion, who could win the title for the second time. Defending champion B36 Tórshavn came in second.

Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 3.55 per game, which was the lowest average since 1954 . HB Tórshavn achieved the highest victory with a 5-1 in the away game against B36 Tórshavn. The highest-scoring game was completed by HB Tórshavn and TB Tvøroyri with a 5-3.

The second leg against TB was also won 1-0, after the 0-3 home defeat against KÍ Klaksvík , B36 was tied again and overtook HB due to the better goal difference. KÍ, who suffered their only defeat with a 2-1 draw against TB on matchday two, were one point behind due to two draws. HB prevailed 5-1 in the second leg against B36 and was now back in first place due to the better goal difference, KÍ Klaksvík won his home game against TB Tvøroyri 3-0. So the last game between KÍ and HB was decisive. HB was able to prevail 1-0 away and thus secure the championship title.
