The Faroese Football Championship 1964 was held in the Meistaradeildin called first Faroese league and was a total of the 22nd season. It started on April 19, 1964 with HB Tórshavn's game against KÍ Klaksvík and ended on July 11, 1964.

Champion was defending champion HB Tórshavn, who could win the title for the fourth time. KÍ Klaksvík, however, retired after two games.

Compared to the previous season, the goal rate improved to 4.83 per game, which was the highest average since 1958 . HB Tórshavn scored the highest victory with a 7-2 in the home game against TB Tvøroyri , which was also the most goal- scoring game.

In the Meistaradeildin , after the withdrawal of KÍ Klaksvík, each team played twice against each other on four matchdays. The team with the best points at the end of the season was clear as champions of this league, there was no relegation regulation.

Season course

HB Tórshavn won the first two games 3-0 against B36 Tórshavn and 5-2 against TB Tvøroyri . The second leg against B36 was lost with 0: 2, then B36 gambled away the championship chances by a 1: 2 away defeat at TB. In the last game TB Tvøroyri should have won a direct duel against HB Tórshavn with at least four goals difference, but HB was able to celebrate the championship with the 2: 7 defeat.
