The Faroese Football Championship 1994 was held in the 1st Deild called first Faroese league and was overall the 52nd season. It started on April 24, 1994 and ended on September 25, 1994.
Promoted NSÍ Runavík returned to the top division after a year, EB / Streymur was the 19th participant in this after the introduction of the league game in 1947 . Champion was defending champion GÍ Gøta , who could win the title for the fourth time. However, ÍF Fuglafjørður had to relegate after two years and EB / Streymur after one year of first class.
Compared to the previous season, the goal rate per game improved to 3.54, which was the highest average since 1979 . GÍ Gøta scored the highest victory with a 9-0 home game against EB / Streymur on matchday 15. The highest-scoring game was between KÍ Klaksvík and EB / Streymur on matchday 11 with an 8-2 win.

In the 1st Deild , each team played twice against each other on 18 match days. Season course
Championship decision
GÍ Gøta took the lead with two wins at the beginning. After the 0: 1 at HB Torshavn on Matchday took B71 Sandur by a 0: 0 in B68 Toftir the lead, but had to have on game day out by a 1: 2 home defeat against HB Tórshavn release it again. The new front runner after three wins and one draw was B36 Tórshavn , but again it was local rivals HB who overthrew the championship leaders with a 3-1 away win on matchday six. These were now level on points with GÍ Gøta and only in second place because of the worse goal difference. On the ninth matchday HB was first for the first time after GÍ lost 3-0 at home to KÍ Klaksvík , but this changed again on the next matchday. HB couldn't get past B68 Toftir 0-0 at home, so B71 Sandur climbed to the top. Due to their 2: 3 away defeat against TB Tvøroyri , HB was again at the front on the eleventh match day, but the duel against their direct pursuer GÍ Gøta was lost on the following match day with 1: 4 on the opponent's place, so that GÍ now again first place held. The next five games were also won, but HB did too. So the decision about the championship was made on the last day of the game. GÍ Gøta needed a point to secure the title due to the much better goal difference and won it with a 1-1 at KÍ Klaksvík, so that HB Tórshavn's 2-0 win at TB Tvøroyri couldn't change that. The equalizer for GÍ was not scored until the 89th minute after KÍ took the lead in the 51st minute. Meanwhile, HB scored both goals in the first half.
Relegation battle
EB / Streymur slipped into the relegation zone on the third day of play, and only one point was won in the first three games. The next games were not more successful either, up to and including the 14th day of play, only two more draws emerged. With the 3-0 defeat against HB Tórshavn, relegation was sealed. Only on the penultimate matchday was a win for the first time with a 2-1 win against NSÍ Runavík.
TB Tvøroyri was also in the table basement for a long time. The first victory came on the third matchday with a 4-1 against EB / Streymur, but due to a series of defeats there was no real break. Only after the 3-2 win in the home game against B71 Sandur on the eleventh game day did TB leave the relegation zone and climb to seventh place. By the end of the season, the team then shuttled between seventh and eighth place.
ÍF Fuglafjørður started the season with a 4-2 home win against EB / Streymur and held the best position of the season with second place. Mixed performances followed in the next few games. Individual wins were still achieved, but in total there were more defeats, so that ÍF was passed through to eighth place by the eighth game day. On the eleventh game day, seventh place could be occupied for a short time, but the team sank to ninth place due to two further defeats. Until the end of the season, no more victory should succeed, so that after the 17th matchday the relegation was certain when the game at GÍ Gøta was lost 8-0 and the gap to eighth place could not be made up.
