The Faroese Football Championship in 1947 was held in the Meistaradeildin first Faroese league and was the fifth season overall. For the first time, the championship was held in league play.

Master was SÍ Sørvágur , who could win the title for the first time. Defending champion B36 Tórshavn finished in fourth place. MB Miðvágur remained without a point win over the entire season. After the launch of the league game in 1947, only B36 Tórshavn II 1948 , VB Vágur 1949 , TB Tvøroyri 1963 and NSÍ Runavík 1976 remained without a point .

The goal rate was 3.55 per game. HB Tórshavn scored the biggest win with a 4-0 away game against B36 Tórshavn. The highest-scoring game was completed by SÍF Sandavágur and SÍ Sørvágur with a 2: 5 and SÍF Sandavágur and MB Miðvágur with a 5: 2.

With the introduction of league games in the Meistaradeildin with seven teams, each team now played once against each other on six match days. The team with the best points at the end of the season was clear as champions of this league, there was no relegation regulation.

SÍ Sørvágur lost the away game against KÍ Klaksvík with 0: 2 and played at home against B36 Tórshavn 1: 1, otherwise all games and thus the championship were won.
