The Faroese Football Championship 1973 was held in the Meistaradeildin called first Faroese league and was a total of the 31st season. It started on April 23, 1973 and ended on September 9, 1973.

Champion HB Tórshavn , which could thus win the title for the seventh time. Defending champion KÍ Klaksvík finished in second place. HB remained free of loss points throughout the season, which so far only TB Tvøroyri in 1949 , KÍ Klaksvík in 1969 and HB itself in 1975 had achieved.

Compared to the previous season, the goal rate worsened to 4.14 per game, which was the lowest average since 1963 . HB Tórshavn scored the highest victory with an 8-0 home game against ÍF Fuglafjørður , which was the highest-scoring game with the 2: 6 between VB Vágur and HB Tórshavn on the penultimate matchday.
