Faroese Football Cup 1972

The Faroese Football Cup 1972 took place between May 11th and September 24th 1972 and was played for the 18th time. In the final, which was played on artificial turf in the Gundadalur Stadium in Tórshavn , defending champion HB Tórshavn won 6-1 against B36 Tórshavn and was thus able to win the trophy for the fourth time in a row and for the tenth time overall.

HB Tórshavn and B36 Tórshavn finished second and third in the championship .

All first division clubs were allowed to play in the cup. These initially played out three participants in one round, one of which was directly qualified for the final. The other two teams determined the second finalist. Compared to the previous year, only two teams played in the semi-finals. All rounds were played in the knockout system .
