Faroese Football Cup 2016

The Faroese Football Cup 2016 , also known as Løgmanssteypið 2016 , took place between March 24th and August 27th, 2016 and was played for the 61st time. In the final, which was played on artificial turf in Tórsvøllur Stadium in Tórshavn , KÍ Klaksvík won on penalties against defending champion Víkingur Gøta . KÍ Klaksvík also took part in the 1st qualifying round for the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League .

KÍ Klaksvík and Víkingur Gøta finished second and one in the championship . For KÍ Klaksvík it was the sixth victory in the 15th finals, for Víkingur Gøta the first defeat in the fifth finals.
