Faroese Football Cup 1956

The Faroese Football Cup in 1956 was played for the second time. In the final, which was played on artificial turf at Gundadalur Stadium in Tórshavn , TB Tvøroyri beat VB Vágur 5-2 .

TB Tvøroyri and VB Vágur finished second and fifth in the championship . Defending champion HB Tórshavn , however, was eliminated in the qualifying round.

All first division clubs were allowed to play in the cup. KÍ Klaksvík was seeded straight for the semifinals. The other four teams initially played two participants in one round, one of which was directly qualified for the final. The other winning team determined the second finalist against KÍ Klaksvík. Compared to the previous year, only two teams played in the semi-finals. All rounds were played in the knockout system .
