Faroese Football Cup 1970

The 1970 Faroese Football Cup took place between June 7th and 14th, 1970 and was played for the 16th time. The final was to be played on artificial turf at Gundadalur Stadium in Tórshavn . However, the trophy was not awarded due to KÍ Klaksvík's refusal to play the game at defending champions HB Tórshavn's stadium .

KÍ Klaksvík and HB Tórshavn took first and second places in the championship .

All first division clubs were allowed to play in the cup. Three teams were seeded for the semifinals. The two remaining teams played the last participant in a round. All rounds were played in the knockout system .

final

The final was originally supposed to take place on September 6th. However, KÍ Klaksvík refused to play the game in the stadium of HB Tórshavn , so that in its place the defeated semi-finalist VB Vágur was asked if he wanted to play in the final instead. Since VB also refused, the association decided not to award the trophy.
