Football Cup 2000 .
The Faroese Football Cup 2000 , also known as Løgmanssteypið 2000 , took place between March 12 and July 2, 2000 and was played for the 46th time. In the final, which was played on natural grass in Tórsvøllur Stadium in Tórshavn , GÍ Gøta won 1-0 against HB Tórshavn and was able to win the cup for the fifth time. In addition, GÍ Gøta thereby took part in qualifying for the 2001/02 UEFA Cup .
GÍ Gøta and HB Tórshavn finished seventh and second in the championship . Defending champion KÍ Klaksvík , however, was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

The following 18 senior teams from the four Faroese leagues were eligible to participate :

All first division clubs were set for the group stage. The remaining lower-class teams played the remaining two participants in two rounds. In the group stage, each team played twice against each other, with the first and second placed in each group as well as the two best third placed qualifications for the next round. Then the game was continued in the knockout system .
qualification
The qualifying round matches took place on March 12th and 17th.
1 Skála ÍF did not appear for the game, so Royn Hvalba was one round without a fight.

The first round games took place on March 19th.

The group stage matches took place between March 26th and May 10th.
